Our automotive SEO services

As an SEO agency in Montreal, we work on three fronts for auto businesses: local search in Google Maps, the pages behind your inventory and services, and the authority your site needs to compete with listing sites.

01

Local SEO and your Google Business Profile

We structure the Business Profile of every rooftop: a precise primary category, hours, showroom photos, services and reviews. Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence: your profile covers relevance, while reviews and links to your site build prominence.

Google’s Business Profile guidelines also set dealer-specific rules. The hours shown are your car sales hours (new car sales hours when new and used hours differ). A publicly facing service and parts department that operates as a distinct entity gets its own profile, for example under “Auto Repair Shop.” Brands are kept apart rather than combined into one name.

02

Model, inventory and service pages

We build a page for every new model, every used vehicle category, every shop service (maintenance, tires, brakes) and financing, answering the questions a buyer has before calling. A single “Services” page that lists everything usually answers each search poorly. We present prices according to consumer protection law. In Quebec, for example, section 224 of the Consumer Protection Act requires the advertised price to include the total amount the consumer will pay, with only QST and GST added on top.

03

Technical SEO for inventory sites

An inventory site generates hundreds of URLs: filters, sold vehicles, duplicate vehicle detail pages. We fix indexing, crawl waste, mobile speed and Core Web Vitals so Google reaches the pages that sell first. When you move to a new dealer website platform, we plan the redirects before the migration.

Schema.org structured data (AutoDealer, AutoRepair, AutoBodyShop) describes the business to search engines. For a bilingual site, we connect the English and French versions with hreflang.

04

Reviews, content and authority

We help you get Google reviews, without incentives, after a sale or a service visit, and respond to them. Blog content answers your customers’ real searches: maintenance intervals, winter tires, model comparisons, the cost of rustproofing. Each article is reviewed by someone on your team, who can sign it, then approved by you in Google Docs: that is the experience and expertise Google groups under E-E-A-T. Link building relies on editorial backlinks and guest posts, with no shady practices, to build your site’s authority against large listing sites.

05

AI search visibility and Google Ads

When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a reliable garage in Laval, the answer names a few businesses: we build that visibility through our GEO services. On the paid side, Google Ads management is included in the mandate, with no management fee.

SEO for auto businesses: who we work with

SEO Montreal™ works with five kinds of auto businesses, from dealerships to snowmobile dealers.

New and used car dealerships

For a dealership, we work on model pages, used inventory, financing and the service department in local search.

Auto repair shops and garages

For auto repair shops, we target “near me” searches: we build one page per service (tires, brakes, diagnostics) and keep your Business Profile current to help generate calls and booked appointments.

Rustproofing and auto detailing

For rustproofing and detailing shops (deep cleaning, ceramic coating), we prepare the service pages ahead of each busy season.

Auto body and collision repair

For a body shop, we build one page per type of collision repair and keep up the Business Profile that customers check before requesting a quote.

RVs, motorcycles and snowmobiles

For RV, motorcycle and snowmobile dealers, who sell by the season across a wide trade area, we get model and inventory pages ready before peak season.

Our automotive SEO method in 4 steps

Understand your local auto market

We look at which dealers, shops and listing sites rank for your models and services in your city. We then turn that into the priorities of your SEO strategy, with an analysis of your best-ranked competitors.

Prioritize the models and services that pay

We rank keywords by their value to your business: a service search for your brand or for a model you have in stock is worth more than a question asked early in the buying journey. We start with what brings in revenue, measure it, then open the next front. And if SEO isn’t the best investment for your business, we tell you.

Execute directly on your site

Our team works directly inside your WordPress, Shopify, Wix or Webflow site: model and service pages, title tags and meta descriptions, internal linking, technical fixes and your Business Profile. Content goes through Google Docs for your approval before it is published.

Measure calls, direction requests and forms

Tracking is a monthly report or a meeting, depending on your preference. It follows rankings and organic traffic, but our conversations with you focus on measurable conversions: calls, direction requests, test drive forms and service appointments. We adjust priorities based on what brings in qualified leads.

How much does an automotive SEO agency cost?

A focused mandate starts at $1,500 per month and a growth mandate runs around $2,000 per month, the average across our clients. Pricing depends on the scope of the work and the competition, not on a fixed price grid, and larger sites move to a custom mandate. Google Ads management is included with no management fee. For a first diagnosis, our guide to what an SEO audit costs explains what an audit covers.

Why choose our automotive SEO agency

Based in Montreal, our team works with businesses across Quebec. We have worked with more than 500 clients in over 25 industries, including local service businesses such as construction companies and plumbers, where a few positions in Google Maps change the number of calls each week.

The mandate runs month to month with 30 days’ notice. Everything we build stays yours, and our team executes directly on your site. To talk it over, contact our team and get a reply within 24 business hours.

What is automotive SEO?

Automotive SEO, also called SEO for auto businesses, is the work that makes a dealership’s or garage’s website and Google listing show up when someone searches for a vehicle, a model or a repair near them: Business Profile, inventory and service pages, content, reviews, links and structured data. It differs from generic search engine optimization in three ways: the volume of inventory pages, the weight of local search and the competition from listing sites.

Automotive SEO FAQ

It depends on your industry, your city and the competition, as well as the state of your site at the start. No legitimate agency can guarantee specific rankings. We set realistic goals at the start, then follow up every month on rankings, calls and forms, through a monthly report or a meeting, depending on your preference.

Yes, when a department is open to the public and operates as a distinct entity. The service and parts department then gets its own profile, with a name that differs from the dealership’s and categories such as “Auto Repair Shop” and “Auto Parts Store.” A dealership that represents two brands does not combine their names into a single profile.

For the models you sell, yes. Someone searching for a specific model expects to see its trims, its pricing and the inventory available, rather than a list of the whole lineup. Vehicle detail pages change often, so we focus on stable model pages, which build up links and rankings over the months while inventory comes and goes.

Google announced the retirement of the vehicle listing structured data type in June 2025 and removed its documentation in September 2025: it is no longer shown in Search results. Schema.org markup is still useful to describe the business itself (AutoDealer, AutoRepair, AutoBodyShop), its hours and its reviews. To show inventory on Google, one route is a Merchant Center feed and vehicle ads, which are available in Canada.

Both: that is why Google Ads management is included in our mandates. Ads can bring in test drive requests and service appointments as soon as they go live. They also help test which models and messages convert while SEO builds momentum. Organic SEO builds lasting visibility that stays in place when the ad budget stops.

Yes, by choosing its searches. An independent dealer rarely wins a broad search like “used cars” with no city in it. It can target its own city, its brands and its service department, where the Business Profile and a clear page play a big role. We start with those searches, then expand at the pace of the mandate.

Yes. When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Copilot for a garage or a body shop in their city, the answer names a few businesses. It can draw on their websites, directories, reviews and articles that mention them. Consistent details everywhere and clear service pages help a business get cited, with no guarantee. That work is part of the mandate.

Yes. Our team works remotely, so the method stays the same wherever the business is. For an auto business, we target the city where it is located and the cities it actually serves. Each rooftop gets its own Business Profile and, when demand justifies it, its own location pages for its main services, so every branch competes in its own local market.
