Our tourism SEO services

As an SEO agency in Montreal, we build a strategy for your property around local search, one page per search intent and the path to your booking engine.

01

Local SEO and Google Business Profile

We structure your Business Profile: exact primary category, amenities, photos of rooms or sites, seasonal hours and a booking link, with one profile for each property, to compete in the local pack. Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence: your profile covers relevance, while reviews and links to your site build prominence. We also keep your name, address and contact details consistent across tourism directories, Tripadvisor and regional tourism associations.

02

Google Hotels and structured data

A hotel can show a room rate and a link to its booking page in Google’s hotel search through free booking links: there is no cost for clicks on these links. You need available rates and a landing page, and setup goes through a Hotel Center account or through your reservation system provider, if it is connected to Google. We then mark up each page with the most specific schema.org type (Hotel, Campground, VacationRental, Restaurant, Winery) so Google understands what you offer.

03

On-page SEO for stays and activities

Each room type, stay offer and activity gets its own page, built on keyword research into what travelers type: “chalet with hot tub in Charlevoix,” “waterfront campground in Mauricie.” Destination and seasonal guides, part of your content strategy, reach travelers earlier, while they are still choosing where to go. Every page goes through Google Docs for your approval before it is published.

04

Technical SEO and the booking path

Mobile site speed, Core Web Vitals, indexing and your booking engine come first, or the content hits a ceiling. When the booking engine opens on another domain, we check that bookings remain measurable. For guests from Ontario, the United States or Europe, the English and French versions are connected with hreflang.

05

Backlinks, reviews and AI search

We earn editorial backlinks and guest posts, with no shady practices: those links build the authority your pages need to rank. Reviews shape your reputation with the guest comparing two properties, so we help you get more Google reviews, without incentives, and respond to them. We also work on visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, the focus of our GEO agency in Montreal.

Everything about hospitality SEO

Hospitality SEO for hotels, chalets and attractions

We adapt SEO for tourism businesses to each type of company, from the boutique hotel to the floatplane tour, around its searches and its season.

Hotels and inns

For a hotel, resort or inn, we do hotel SEO that combines your Business Profile, free booking links in Google Hotels and one page per room type. The goal is to move a share of the bookings that go through Booking.com or Expedia to your own site.

Vacation rentals and chalets

For chalet rentals and B&Bs, we target precise searches (hot tub, pet-friendly, waterfront, number of bedrooms) with one page per chalet rather than a single Airbnb listing.

Wineries, breweries and distilleries

For wineries, microbreweries and distilleries, we showcase the visit in your Business Profile, your activity and event pages and regional searches.

Restaurants in tourist regions

For a restaurant in a tourist region, we work on what travelers see on Google Maps before they choose: a complete profile, a current menu, photos and reviews. We also target the searches of visitors passing through.

Campgrounds

For a campground, we build pages by site type (ready-to-camp, RV, tent), target regional searches and keep your Business Profile current, with a content calendar timed to the season.

Air tours and aviation

For floatplane tours, helicopter flights and discovery flights, we give each tour its own page, with your base’s Business Profile and answers to travelers’ questions: duration, season, departures.

Our hospitality SEO method in 4 steps

Understand your tourism market

We look at who already ranks for your searches, whether nearby properties, booking platforms or travel guides, and we list the common SEO mistakes on your site. We also note the keywords your future guests already type, with their search volume and seasonality.

Prioritize the stays that pay

We rank keywords by value to your business: a “chalet rental with hot tub” search that leads to a multi-night booking is worth more than informational searches. We start with the most profitable season or offer, measure it, then move on to the next. And if SEO isn’t the best investment for your business, we tell you.

Execute directly on your site

Our team executes directly inside your WordPress, Wix, Webflow or Shopify site: lodging pages, title tags, internal linking, structured data, technical fixes and your Business Profile. Google Ads management is included in the mandate with no management fee, to test offers and go after bookings while organic rankings build.

Measure bookings, then optimize

Tracking comes as a monthly report or a meeting, as you prefer: rankings, organic traffic and conversions, and above all the bookings, requests and revenue you receive. We adjust priorities before each peak season. The mandate runs month to month with 30 days’ notice, and everything we’ve built stays yours.

How much does hospitality SEO cost?

A focused mandate starts at $1,500 per month and a growth mandate runs around $2,000 per month, the average across our clients. The price depends on the scope of the work and the competition, not a fixed price grid; large sites move to a custom mandate. Google Ads management is included at no extra cost. For a precise budget, tell us about your property, and our guide to what an SEO audit costs covers the one-time side.

What is hospitality SEO?

Hospitality SEO (search engine optimization for hotels and tourism businesses, also called tourism SEO) is the work that makes a tourism business’s website and Business Profile appear in search engines when a traveler looks for lodging, an activity or a restaurant in a destination: Business Profile, stay pages, destination content, backlinks, structured data and, for hotels, Google Hotels. It differs from generic SEO in three ways: demand is seasonal, booking platforms often take a good share of the results and travelers often search in more than one language.

Hospitality SEO FAQ

It depends on the destination, the competition and the state of the site, and no legitimate agency can guarantee specific rankings. Because organic rankings take time to build, it pays to start before peak season. We set realistic goals at the start, then track progress every month, in a report or a meeting as you prefer, covering rankings, organic traffic and bookings.

It can, without replacing them. Online travel agencies (OTAs) stay useful for discovery, but a booking through them generally involves a commission. Organic SEO, Google’s free booking links for hotels and a well-kept Business Profile can bring a share of travelers back to your own site. We track the share of direct bookings every month to see what moves.

A hotel’s rates and a link to its booking page show in Google’s hotel search through a Hotel Center account or through your booking engine provider, if it is connected to Google. You need available rates and a landing page. We then check that your Business Profile, your website and your structured data say the same thing: name, address, type of lodging and amenities.

In Quebec, yes, if you operate a tourist accommodation establishment subject to registration, with the exceptions the regulation provides. The Tourist Accommodation Regulation requires the operator to clearly indicate the registration number in any advertising, on any social media and on any website used in connection with the establishment. We add it to the footer and to the lodging pages.

Pages need to be indexed and ranking before demand arrives. We publish winter content by late summer and summer content in the spring, following search trends for your region. In the off season, we work on the searches that stay active: weekend getaways, events, business stays and group bookings.

If part of your clientele comes from Ontario, the United States or Europe, yes. Two versions connected with hreflang tags let Google show each traveler the right language. Each version is written for its reader rather than translated word for word, with its own keywords, such as “chalet à louer à Mont-Tremblant” and “cottage rental Mont-Tremblant.”

Both: that is why Google Ads management is included in our mandates. Ads can help fill slow dates and test which offers convert before you invest in new pages. Organic SEO builds visibility that can keep producing bookings when the ad budget stops, season after season.

Yes, it can happen. When a traveler asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Copilot where to stay near a national park, the answer can name properties. Consistent details everywhere and pages that answer clearly help a property get picked up in those answers. That work is part of the mandate.
